Bid the most you are willing to pay, once. We bid for you in steps and only as far as we have to — so you pay enough to beat the next bidder, not the figure you entered.

A bid is binding — if you win, you have agreed to buy. Buying from a business seller still carries the usual 14-day right to change your mind once it arrives: an online auction is not a “public auction” in law, whatever eBay has taught everyone.
